Munchkin

DIAPER PAIL PREFERENCE STUDY ABSTRACT:

In June 2010, Munchkin, Inc., maker of the Arm and Hammer™ Diaper Pail,
sought to test its pail against the Diaper Genie® II diaper pail by Playtex − under real life conditions.

An independent, third party research firm designed and managed an in-home test of the two products.
The researchers sought to find out if a randomly chosen group of U.S. mothers of infants indicated a clear preference for either pail after they have had the chance to use both products in the home.

Sector Intelligence, the firm managing the research, screened applicants, as well as purchased and shipped the pails.
Based on the test’s design, at no time did the participants know which brand was conducting the test, nor did Munchkin know who was participating.
All products were shipped to participants directly at one time from e-tailer diapers.com, using their normal shipping process.
Participants used each pail for one week (participants were randomly asked to start with one pail and end with the other),
and at the end of the two-week period, completed a survey about both pails.
Sector Intelligence tallied and analyzed the responses.

Results were as follows:

Total Responses: 104
Arm and Hammer Diaper Pail: 68
Diaper Genie II Advanced Disposal System: 31
5 respondents said they had no preference

Test participants preferred the Arm and Hammer Diaper Pail 2-1 (68.7%) over the Diaper Genie II.
